This from Stewart:
Hi All,
Just briefly, I competed in the 2007 Avon Descent this weekend. The Avon River was flowing high after considerable rain over the past 15 days and the weather on the two days of the race was sunny and clear. Perfect conditions for the 700+ field of competitors this year. Thousands of spectators lined the 133 km of river bank between the Town of Northam for the Start and the city of Bayswater at the finish line.
The Avon Descent is 133km long split between two days of racing. I finished the day yesterday in 3rd position and maintained this position today finishing 3rd in the Mens Kayak class.
The South African Marathon Champion won this years Mens Kayak class, and this is his 3rd Avon Descent victory.
Thank-you for your support, it is very much appreciated. I hope to speak to you all individually soon.
Regards,
Stewart Bennett
